Indonesian Menpora Participates in Virtual MPR-DPR-DPD Annual Session

Detiktoday.com – The Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Indonesia (Menpora RI) Zainudin Amali attended the MPR RI Annual Session and the 2020 DPR RI & DPD Joint Session.

The Indonesian Menpora, wearing a suit, was present virtually at the Situation Room, Kemenpora RI, Jakarta, Friday (14/8).

This Annual Session was held at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta. On this occasion, Indonesian President Joko Widodo wore traditional Sabu clothing, East Nusa Tenggara. Meanwhile, the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Ma’ruf Amin wore a suit.

In his speech, the President of the Republic of Indonesia highlighted the matter of this annual session. Because, activities were carried out in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic. A number of seats in the annual courtroom are deliberately vacated because they have to implement strict health protocols. This is also the case with the commemoration of the 75th Indonesian Independence Day.

“Supposedly, all the seats in this courtroom are filled, without any vacancies. Supposedly, since two weeks ago, various competitions and crowds full of joy, a carnival to commemorate independence day was held, enveloping the atmosphere of the 75th independence month. However, everything we have planned must change completely, “said President Joko Widodo.

Nevertheless, the President of the Republic of Indonesia asked the public to be grateful for the commemoration of Indonesia’s 75th Anniversary, even though everything has changed. He said many countries are also facing difficult times amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

“Many countries are facing difficult times. All countries, poor countries, developing countries, including developed countries, are all experiencing setbacks due to exposure to Covid-19, “said the President of the Republic of Indonesia.

Furthermore, the Head of State also invited the Indonesian people to take the momentum of the crisis as a result of the Corona virus pandemic. This invitation was conveyed to be able to make a big leap in the future. Currently, according to him, is the right time to catch up.

“This is the time for us to fundamentally improve, carry out a big transformation, carry out a big strategy. It’s time for us to plow the momentum of this crisis to take big leaps. The decline of a large country could be an opportunity for us to catch up, “he said.

The President of the Republic of Indonesia also gave the highest appreciation to health workers, volunteers, members of the TNI-Polri, and ASN who continue to work hand in hand to overcome the Covid-19 pandemic. “On behalf of the people, nation and state, I would like to express my gratitude and highest appreciation to the doctors, nurses, all officers in hospitals, clinics, laboratories and isolation houses. Also to volunteers, media crews, TNI-Polri, ASN at the central and regional levels, and others, “he explained.

The President of the Republic of Indonesia continued that the crisis that hit various sectors has also changed the normal way of working. Speed, accuracy, and efficiency are needed. The president of the Republic of Indonesia said that a normal way of working must be extraordinary.

“This crisis has forced us to shift the work channel. From normal means to extra normal means. From ordinary ways to extraordinary ways. From a long and cumbersome procedure to a smart short cut. Our mindset and work ethic must change. Speed, accuracy is needed. Efficiency, collaboration and the use of technology must be prioritized, “he stressed.

“National discipline and national productivity must be improved. Don’t waste the lessons a crisis gives you. Don’t let a crisis produce a setback. It is precisely the momentum of this crisis that we must hijack to make a leap of progress, “the President added.
