The Indonesian Menpora Ask PMKRI to Invite People to Protect Themselves from the Covid-19 Pandemic
Detiktoday.com – The Indonesian Minister of Youth and Sports, Zainudin Amali, gave a speech at the Indonesian Catholic Student Association (PP PMKRI) Webinar with the theme Youth as Unifier and Locomotive for Development in the New Normal Era in the Situation Room, Kemenpora, Jakarta, Friday (14/8) night.
In his speech, the Indonesian Minister of Youth and Sports said that currently it is still in the atmosphere of the Covid 19 pandemic. We do not yet know when this pandemic will end, but the government’s efforts to end it immediately. At least breaking the chain of spreading the Corona virus was really done.
“However, it is not only Indonesia that has been affected by the spread of the corona virus, but there are around 215 countries. And these countries, including Indonesia, are now struggling to immediately overcome this virus and at the same time restore public health,” he said.
He further said that currently the corona virus has had an impact on the economies of these countries, including Indonesia. “We as a nation naturally also feel and are concerned about this situation but we should not just be silent, especially if we are pessimistic. I ask the PMKRI cadres to spread a positive aura and optimism in the midst of society. And this is the role of youth organizations including PMKRI which is the most important. this nation needs, “he said.
“Therefore, what was initiated by PMKRI that youth as the unifier and locomotive of development in the New Normal Era is very appropriate. Because with the pandemic atmosphere, we must be active, productive and we must keep working, we should not be overly afraid. The government is trying to immediately overcoming this. It is proven that now vaccine trials have started, the government has also done other things such as social assistance, health and so on, “he added.
But, he continued, the government’s efforts to overcome this corona virus cannot be alone but there must be togetherness between the government and the community. “The government and all elements of society must jointly handle this, including the youth element, especially friends from PMKRI. So don’t feel that their role is meaningless, I say that no matter how small the role is, especially in the current atmosphere it is very meaningful,” he explained.
“That is why at the beginning I welcomed the theme raised by PMKRI friends. Because this is very appropriate for the current atmosphere. And what should PMKRI friends do? PMKRI friends must invite starting from the internal committee. from the center to the branches and down. As well as all its members, unite together steps together with the government to immediately overcome this and of course invite all people outside the PMKRI to protect themselves, “he concluded.
