DPR Leaders Support the Steps to Change Task Force
Detiktoday.com – Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives Sufmi Dasco Ahmad supported the government’s move in changing the Task Force for the Coordination of Handling Covid-19 into the Task Force for Handling Covid-19. According to this Gerindra Party politician, the Government’s move was merely to improve the condition of the country in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic.
“The government is reviewing everything that is felt needs to be done to deal with a pandemic, something that has never been felt by any country, including Indonesia. Therefore, whatever steps are taken by the Government by appointing a new spokesperson, appointing a new task force, I think it must be supported, “Dasco told media crews in the hall of Nusantara III Building, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday (7/22) / 2020).
The Chairperson of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Coordinator of the Economy and Finance (Korekku) also appreciated the Government’s steps to continue to improve the condition of the country in the midst of a pandemic. He considered the Government’s efforts in national economic recovery were good.

Previously, President Joko Widodo dissolved the Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling Covid-19. Instead, there is now a Covid-19 Handling Task Force that is still chaired by the Head of the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) Doni Monardo. Meanwhile, Wiku Adisasmito replaced Achmad Yurianto as the Government spokesman for Covid-19.
The decision to form a Covid-19 Handling Committee and PEN was taken because it saw health and economic issues that cannot be separated in handling Covid-19. Based on these considerations, the President signed Government Regulation Number 82 Year 2020 on July 20, 2020 concerning the establishment of the Covid-19 Handling Task Force Policy Committee, and the National Economic Recovery and Transformation Task Force.
