Regarding this matter, the Minister of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration, Abdul Halim Iskandar said, the BLT Dana Desa had overcome the economic problems of a number of female heads of household in the village, which had not been detected yet.

The reason is that most of the female head of households are poor families that have not been recorded in the Integrated Social Welfare Data (DTKS).

“It means that in actual conditions, he / she is supposed to be part of the Social Safety Net (JPS) program, but it is not recorded,” Minister Halim said as a keynote speaker at the International Webinar The Role of Woman in New Normality of Rural Areas in Jakarta , Tuesday (7/21).

Minister Gus, as he was called, said that the entry of millions of a number of Female Family Heads (PEKKA) as recipients of the Village Fund BLT was a lesson from the accuracy and method of KPM BLT Village Fund data collection conducted on the basis of RT.

The KPM BLT Data Collection for Village Funds themselves, is carried out by village volunteers versus covid 19 who are then authorized through the Village Deliberation (Musdes).

“This is the wisdom of the Village Fund BLT which was recorded through the RT base by village volunteers versus covid 19, which shows how many female heads of households should have been part of JPS but were not recorded. Alhamdulillah, you could be a BLT recipient, “he said.

On the other hand, Gus Minister said, women have an important role in the process of planning, implementation, and supervision of development in rural areas.

According to him, the context of village gender equality has also been stated in Law No. 6 of 2014 concerning Villages.

“For example, talking about the existence of the BPD (Village Consultative Body) must pay attention to the element of women, the element of village deliberation that one of them must be a representative of a women’s group,” he said.
