DPR Appreciates the Government for Maintaining Health and Economic Balance

Puan Maharani said that the Government has made the best efforts so far in overcoming the Covid-19 pandemic and its impacts, namely by prioritizing handling the health sector and paying attention to the national economy. For that, according to him, the Government’s efforts deserve public appreciation.
“In the future, all parties with the authority and responsibility they have, should continue to increase their best efforts in overcoming the Covid-19 pandemic and its impacts,” explained Puan when delivering her closing speech for the Session Period I of the 2020-2021 Session Year at the DPR RI Plenary Meeting. , at the DPR RI Building, Jakarta, Monday (5/10/2020). The Plenary Meeting was chaired by the Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian Parliament, M. Azis Syamsuddin.
During the First Trial Period in the situation of the Covid-19 pandemic, Puan ensured that the Indonesian Parliament would continue to carry out its constitutional duties optimally through the functions of legislation, budget and supervision. Puan said that all sectors have worked hard, working together, to overcome the Covid-19 pandemic and overcome its impact on people’s lives, both in the health, social and economic fields.
“For us, the nation and state of Indonesia, our spirit of mutual cooperation, working together with all the nation’s children, be it the central government, local government, health workers, TNI, Polri, BUMN, private sector, volunteers, and the people in general, have built our social resilience in facing the non-natural disaster of the Covid-19 pandemic, ”explained this PDI-Perjuangan faction politician.
Currently, the number of Covid-19 cases is still increasing in a number of areas. According to Puan, the people have high hopes for the Government to be able to control and handle this pandemic. He added that the central and local governments must coordinate, work together and be consistent in implementing policies.
“Take data-based policies, listen to input from various parties, present politics with a human face, don’t politicize the situation,” explained Puan. He reminded the central and local governments not to waste the sacrifices of the people who have been staying at home all this time to protect themselves and protect their environment.
Puan also asked people to continue to be disciplined, wear masks, wash their hands with soap and maintain physical distance. “Implementing health protocols in dealing with Covid-19 is a form of humanitarian responsibility. We need large-scale mutual cooperation in fighting the Covid-19 pandemic. God willing, with us working together, Indonesia will be able to get through this challenge, “said the politician from the Central Java electoral district.
