Kasetpres: Inauguration of the Governor of Riau Islands Is Done with the Strict Health Protocol

Responding to this the Head of the Secretariat of President Heru Budi Hartono, ensured that the inauguration of the Governor of the Riau Islands which was held on July 27, 2020 has gone through a number of strict health protocols.

In a statement submitted to the Press, Media and Information Bureau of the Presidential Secretariat on Saturday, August 1, 2020, Heru explained that his party had conducted a swab test in advance both to the party to be appointed, his family, and related officials who were present on a limited basis at the inauguration .

“We have implemented strict health protocols, namely the Governor of the Riau Islands, their families and related officials when they were present at a swab in Jakarta,” he said.

During the inauguration procession, the Presidential Secretariat also minimized direct contact between President Joko Widodo and the Governor of the Riau Islands who would be inaugurated.

“Mr. President did not immediately hand over the Presidential Decree (Presidential Decree) but it was prepared at one table, not far from the establishment of the Governor of the Riau Islands, and the Governor of the Riau Islands took the file himself,” Heru said.

“It means that we have implemented and maintained the conditions of the health protocol strictly,” he added.

In addition, a number of other health protocols are also implemented strictly within the Presidential Palace, especially during the inauguration procession taking place such as wearing masks and keeping a distance.

“During the inauguration, we did not invite many officials and were only attended by certain families and officials,” he said.
