Detiktoday.com – Fisheries Supervisory Directorate General. PSDKP is the spearhead of the supervision of marine and fisheries resources together with the Supervisory Ship to fight Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated Fishing (IUU Fishing).
The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries through the Directorate General of Maritime and Fisheries Supervision gave awards to three Exemplary Fisheries Supervisors in 2020.
The award was delivered directly by the Director General of Maritime and Fisheries Resources Supervision, Tb Haeru Rahayu on the sidelines of the Fisheries Supervision Coordination Meeting held in Bogor on Wednesday (07/15).
“I extend my highest appreciation and gratitude for the dedication of you who are at the forefront in guarding the regulation of the legislation in the field of fisheries,” said the Director General of PSDKP, commonly called Tebe.
Three Fisheries Supervisors were awarded as 2020 Model Fisheries Supervisors. They were Nanang Priyanto from Jakarta PSDKP Base, Kotot Setiadi from Batam PSDKP Base and Albertus Septiyono from Benoa PSDKP Base.
For information that the award is given with consideration of the role and achievements in the supervision of marine and fisheries resources.
Tebe also reminded that the dynamics of monitoring marine and fisheries resources are currently so dynamic and complex that the Fishery Supervisors are required to be able to adjust and improve professionalism.
“The challenge of monitoring fisheries going forward is certainly more severe, I hope we can all react to it by increasing competence and skills in the field of supervision,” Tebe stressed.
Nanang Supriadi is a Young Expert Fisheries Supervisor at Wilker SDKP Pangandaran who has assignment records in various regions including OKI, Tarempa, Kijang, and Pangandaran Regencies.
Nanang is also heavily involved in handling fisheries criminal offenses including investigating 23 cases of illegal foreign fishing vessels, investigating vessels using trawl fishing equipment, investigating cases of manta ray gill trade and lobster trading.
Not much different, Kotot Setiadi who currently serves at Wilker SDKP Moro was also involved in handling 12 illegal foreign fishing vessels and 4 Indonesian fishing vessels during the period 2018-2019.
Whereas Albertus Septiono received an award for his role in uncovering the case of the illegal trade of 100 kg of Pari Manta and its activities in fostering the Community Watch Group in the Jembrana region.
Contacted separately, the Secretary of the Directorate General of Maritime and Fisheries Resources Supervision, Suharta, also expressed his pride in the achievements and performance of the Exemplary Fisheries Supervisor.
This is expected to be a motivation for other Fisheries Supervisors to further improve their performance in the field of supervision of marine and fisheries resources.
“This is a form of reward for officers who excel, hopefully it will be a good motivation for other Fisheries Supervisors,” Suharta explained.
Furthermore, Suharta also explained that the awarding was carried out based on Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Regulation 20 / PERMEN-KP / 2018 concerning Assessment of Functional Officials in the Field of Maritime Affairs and Exemplary Fisheries.
These provisions are a reference in giving this appreciation and appreciation.
“This award is given according to the provisions and all stages have been passed in the process of awarding this,” concluded Suharta.
Based on Law Number 45 of 2009 concerning Amendment to Law Number 31 of 2004 concerning Fisheries Article 66 paragraph (2), the Fishery Supervisor is tasked with overseeing the orderly implementation of the provisions of the laws and regulations in the field of fisheries. Until now the Directorate General of PSDKP KKP has 293 Fisheries Supervisory Functional Officers spread over 14 PSDKP Bases / Stations.
