President: Synergy is the Key to Building a Strong and Effective Defense Force
Detiktoday.com – In Commemoration of the 75th Anniversary of the Indonesian National Army (TNI) with the theme “Synergy for the Country”, President Joko Widodo emphasized that the synergy carried out by the TNI with various elements of the nation is what is needed to build a strong and effective defense force. Therefore, all members and soldiers of the TNI with their fighting character must be able to synergize with others in order to work hand in hand to realize a strong and effective defense of the nation and state.
“Always ready to synergize, work hand in hand with various elements of the nation, synergy between corps, synergy between dimensions, synergy between agencies, and synergy between TNI and Polri. Synergy is the key to building a stronger and more effective defense force,” the President said in his mandate. as Ceremonial Inspector at the 75th Anniversary of TNI Day at the State Palace, Jakarta, Monday, October 5, 2020.
Apart from continuing to work together, the transformation of the TNI organization should also be continued so that the TNI remains relevant in carrying out its duties in the current era of change.
The President said that in the last five years, the TNI had carried out a significant organizational transformation by establishing new organizational units to support this. Among them are the formation of new organizations such as Division 3 Kostrad, Air Force Operations Command III, Fleet Command III, Marine Forces 3, to the TNI Cyber Unit.
“The formation of these new TNI organizational units is a form of the government’s commitment to continue to transform the TNI organization so that the TNI will be stronger in carrying out its role,” he added.
In the future, the transformation of the organization must be supported by the transformation of technology and the personnel who control it. We are currently in an era of technological leaps that will affect security tactics, strategies and threats.
For this reason, transformation is needed in order to understand as well as take advantage of leaps in the fields of information technology, nanotechnology, and artificial intelligence technology to support TNI tasks. All parties must also be committed to changing policies from defense spending policies to long-term defense investments that are systematically designed and implemented consistently and sustainably.
“Only through planned long-term defense investment will the TNI be able to become a modern war force that follows the development of the most advanced technology,” said the President.
At the end of his mandate, the Head of State at the same time expressed his appreciation for the contribution of TNI soldiers who were always ready to guard Pancasila, NKRI, the 1945 Constitution, and Bhinneka Tunggal Ika and who were full of sincerity on duty in remote areas, border areas, remote areas on the front islands. , and those serving overseas as peacekeepers.
The President also gave the highest appreciation to TNI soldiers who were always at the forefront of humanitarian missions and for the TNI’s active role in handling the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic both in disciplining the application of health protocols and in care at TNI hospitals.
“Continue to improve the ability, professionalism, and preparedness to accept further assignments. Hold firmly the mandate of Sapta Marga and the soldier’s oath, keep the TNI oneness with the people, make synergy the strength to build the country and bring Indonesia to become a developed country,” he said.
