Puan Maharani Asks Pilkada Participants Not to Mass Mobilize During Campaigns

Detiktoday.com – Chairman of the Indonesian Parliament Puan Maharani asked all participants and organizers of the 2020 Pilkada to comply with health protocols at all stages to prevent the spread of Covid-19. According to Puan, the rules in the General Election Commission Regulation Number 13 of 2020 must be enforced for the success of the simultaneous regional elections.

“Do not let the people still mobilize and crowd out. In addition to regulations, the health protocol discipline must also be due to awareness, “said Puan in a press release received by Parliamentaria in Jakarta, Tuesday (30/9/2020).

Puan again emphasized that all candidates for head and deputy regional heads who contest the 2020 Pilkada must be more creative and innovative in conveying their vision and mission during the campaign period during the Covid-19 pandemic. He encouraged the delivery of the vision and mission to be done virtually and not hold activities that invite crowds.

“Pilkada participants and organizers must obey PKPU-related Pilkada. Candidates must campaign creatively, innovatively, through virtual, avoiding mass crowds, “said the PDI-Perjuangan politician.

In accordance with PKPU provisions No.13 of 2020, face-to-face campaigns for limited meetings, open meetings, and dialogue must comply with the Covid-19 preventive health protocol and limit the number of participants to a maximum of 50 people.

If someone violates, said Puan, then law enforcement must be carried out according to the applicable rules. “The sanctions have been regulated through the latest PKPU. Discipline in the regional elections is very important for the success of the 2020 Pilkada, “said the legislator for the Central Java electoral district.
