The Research and Innovation Cluster in the Ciptaker Law will Cut Bureaucracy

Detiktoday.com – Chairman of Commission VII DPR RI Sugeng Suparwoto assessed the Research and Innovation Cluster, which is one of eleven clusters in the Omnibus Law of the Job Creation Act (Ciptaker), has rules to reduce the length of the bureaucracy. Sugeng invited the public to support this cluster so that in the future domestic research and innovation would no longer be bothered by bureaucratic matters.
“The progress of each nation is very much determined by research and innovation that produces the concepts of life, both governance, bureaucracy, or technology products. All of these are very dependent on research and development, and are innovative. We encourage research and innovation not “bothered or bothered with bureaucratic matters. And the Omnibus Law answered all of that,” Sugeng said when contacted by Parliament, Monday (12/10/2020).
So far, research and innovation are spread across all ministries and institutions, both through the Research and Development Agency (Balitbang), as well as existing institutions such as the Agency for the Assessment and Application of Technology (BPPT) and the Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI). However, the research results from these institutions are not well coordinated due to various bureaucratic problems. So what emerges is the sectoral ego of each institution.
According to Sugeng, the omnibus law will simplify the process, shorten the bureaucracy in the research and innovation process. This means that without losing the characteristics of each institution, all research is coordinated by the Minister of Research and Technology who is the Head of the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) with a short process.
In the future, it is hoped that research and innovation by the nation’s children will be able to become superior products that can overcome various problems of the nation. Like at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, many hospitals lacked medical devices to help patients. In the end, Indonesia, through BPPT and PT Land, could produce its own ventilators and respirators.
“In other words, the research and innovation arrangements in the Job Creation Law show that the Indonesian Parliament and the government provide full support for research and innovation of the nation’s children. As mentioned earlier, the progress of every nation is largely determined by its research and innovation,” he concluded. this NasDem Party politician.
