China offers various infrastructure development projects in Indonesia through the Indonesian Embassy in Beijing amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Indonesian Ambassador to China Djauhari Oratmangun said that his party had met with the Vice President of China Gezhouba Group International Engineering Co. Ltd., Hu Peng.
Gezhouba is a Chinese BUMN that has been working on 12 development projects in Indonesia since 2006, including power plants in North Sumatra, North Kalimantan and West Kalimantan.
According to the Ambassador, Gezhouba became one of the Chinese companies interested in investing in the construction of the State Capital (IKN) in East Kalimantan and other cooperation in infrastructure and energy.
Previously the Ambassador received a delegation from the Chengdu City Government, Sichuan Province, led by Deputy Mayor Niu Qingbao to discuss plans to increase economic and trade cooperation between the two post-COVID-19 parties, one of which was through the opening of a direct flight path between Indonesia and Chengdu.
“We also received a proposal for cooperation in the field of Intelligent Transportation System for infrastructure and highway development in Indonesia as well as in the field of telecommunications and battery energy storage,” added Djauhari .
The situation in China has not fully recovered from the epidemic given that there is still close monitoring of all local and foreign residents in an effort to prevent the emergence of a second wave.
In the situation called The New Normal, China puts forward aspects of improving the digital economy.
“This is also expected to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in various fields between Indonesia and China which in 2020 enters the age of 70 years,” said the former Indonesian Ambassador to Russia.
