Dressed in Traditional NTT Dresses, the President Will Deliver a State Address at the Nusantara Building
Detiktoday.com – President Joko Widodo on Friday, August 14, 2020, will deliver a speech at the 2020 MPR RI Annual Session and a State Address in the framework of the 75th Anniversary of Indonesian Independence which will be held in the Plenary Meeting Room, Nusantara MPR / DPR / DPD RI Building, Jakarta.
President Joko Widodo arrived at the Nusantara Building at around 08.25 WIB and appeared to be wearing traditional clothes typical of Sabu, East Nusa Tenggara, greeted by MPR Secretary General Ma’ruf Cahyono, MPR Chair Bambang Soesatyo, DPR Speaker Puan Maharani, and DPD Chair La Nyalla Mattalitti .
For information, the traditional clothes worn by the President this time come from Sabu Island, which is the foremost island in the southern tip of Indonesia.

At around 08.58 WIB, President Joko Widodo together with Vice President Ma’ruf Amin, the Chairman of the MPR, the Speaker of the DPR, and the Chair of the DPD appeared to enter the Plenary Meeting Room, Nusantara Building.
Before President Jokowi delivers his speech, the MPR RI Annual Session and the 2020 DPR RI and DPD RI Joint Session will first be opened by the Chairman of the MPR and then followed by his introductory speech to the Joint Session of the DPR RI and DPD RI by the Chairman of the DPR.
On this occasion, the President will deliver a speech to deliver the performance report of state institutions and speeches for the 75th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Indonesia.
In the afternoon, the President will make a speech in the context of Submitting the Government’s Introduction to the 2021 Fiscal Year State Budget Bill accompanied by Financial Notes and Supporting Documents. The speech will be delivered at the Plenary Meeting of the Opening of the First Session of the Indonesian Parliament for the 2020-2021 Session Year which will be opened by the Chair of the Indonesian Parliament Puan Maharani.
The MPR RI Annual Session as well as the Joint Session of the DPR RI and DPD RI were held by strictly implementing health protocols. The physical presence of MPR members and invited guests is limited in order to carry out the protocol to maintain good distance. Others followed the congregation by videoconferencing.
