Hand over Working Capital Assistance, President: Try to Keep It Up until things return to normal
Detiktoday.com – Provision of working capital assistance for micro and small businesses affected by the pandemic continues. After last Tuesday, Rp2.4 million in assistance was given to 63 business actors from the City and Regency of Bogor, President Joko Widodo again provided the same assistance to small business actors from various regions in Jakarta and the Thousand Islands on Wednesday, September 30, 2020.
In a conversation with aid recipients who were present in the central courtyard of the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, the President said that he fully understood that running a business, especially for micro and small entrepreneurs, in the midst of this pandemic was not easy. However, conditions like this are not only experienced by micro and small business actors, but also affect large business actors. Moreover, the current economic conditions also occur in at least 215 countries in the world.
“We all know now that the conditions are not easy. Conditions are all in a difficult position. Whether it’s big, medium, small, or micro entrepreneurs. All conditions are difficult. Nothing is not, “he said.
That is why the government is moving quickly to help those affected, such as mobile traders, street vendors, and others, who may be the ones who have been hardest hit by this pandemic. It is hoped that the working capital assistance given directly by the President can be used by them immediately so that the economy continues to run. The government wants and also strives for these business actors to survive in the midst of the current pandemic.
“The most important thing is not to let the business men and women close down. Have to survive until later the situation is normal. That is why we are providing this working capital assistance, “said the President.
President Joko Widodo also invited beneficiaries to remain enthusiastic and willing to work hard so that when they return to normal conditions, the economic conditions of business actors can gradually recover. According to him, the decline in turnover and business profits in the current situation is difficult to avoid. However, whatever the results of your efforts at this time, you must be grateful.
“Try to stay afloat even with a much smaller turnover or profit,” he said.
Not to forget, the Head of State also invited the recipients of aid who were present to participate in socializing health protocols in their respective neighborhoods.
“I ask the environment and neighbors to keep wearing masks, keep a distance like this, because this is a virus that we sometimes don’t know where it is transmitted,” he said.
A total of 63 recipients of working capital assistance attended two separate sessions in an effort to comply with health protocols by maintaining distance and preventing overcrowding. The recipients of the aid have also gone through a medical examination process before entering the Presidential Palace complex.
Also accompanying the President at the event were Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung and Head of the Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono.
