President Jokowi Visits Area Arrangement and Construction of a Multifunction Terminal in Labuan Bajo

Detiktoday.com – President Joko Widodo reviewed a number of infrastructure developments in Ujung Village, Labuan Bajo, Komodo District during his visit to East Nusa Tenggara Province on Thursday, October 1, 2020.

At that location, the Head of State reviewed the development of the local area arrangement through the construction and arrangement of roads, pedestrians, beaches, and supporting drainage.

“There we set up the sidewalks, we renovated the old port, we moved to the new port at Wae Kelambu. We hope that the first stage will be completed at the end of 2020, then the second stage will be completed in 2021, “said the President.

Before conducting a survey in Kampung Ujung, the Head of State is known to first briefly review the Labuan Bajo Port area.

From Kampung Ujung, the series of working visits then continued to inspect the area and building facilities in Batu Cermin, which is approximately 5.3 kilometers from the location of the first observation.

Implementation activities at that location began on March 16, 2020. Currently, the development of structuring has reached 47 percent and will continue to process in the future.

“Here it is indeed built at designated points in the area, which were planned last year. It has started, like now what we see in the Batu Cermin area, which has started like this, “he said.

In addition, the Head of State and his limited entourage also briefly reviewed the multi-function terminal construction project in the Wae Kelambu area. The terminal will be focused and earmarked to support ship container loading and unloading activities.

After inspecting a number of infrastructures, President Joko Widodo will hand over working capital assistance to micro and small entrepreneurs from Labuan Bajo.

Accompanying the President in the series of working visits included Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, President Special Staff Ari Dwipayana, and East Nusa Tenggara Governor Viktor Laiskodat.
