President Jokowi Witnesses a Rehearsal for the Seconds of the Proclamation of Indonesian Independence
Detiktoday.com – President Joko Widodo witnessed the dirty rehearsal for the Seconds Commemoration of the Proclamation of Independence of the Republic of Indonesia which was held on Thursday morning, August 13, 2020, at the courtyard of the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, which in the current situation was adapted to the adaptation of new habits.
The Head of State wearing a mask and face shield looked carefully at the dirty rehearsal from beginning to end involving Paskibraka and troops from the TNI and Polri.
The rehearsal procession begins with the entry of a troop totaling 20 people from the TNI Army, Air Force, Navy, and Indonesian Police to the ceremonial field to be followed by other limited ceremonial instruments and applying health protocols.
The President, First Lady, Vice President, and Vice President’s wife were simulated to enter the ceremony venue afterwards before the commencement of the Seconds Commemoration of the Proclamation of Independence of the Republic of Indonesia which was marked by cannon shots.
In the ceremony on August 17, 2020, the Speaker of the MPR, Bambang Soesatyo, will read the text of the proclamation. Meanwhile, the Minister of Religion Fachrul Razi will lead the prayer reading.
The rehearsal procession was then continued with a simulation of raising the Sang Merah and White until the Second Anniversary of the Proclamation of Independence of the Republic of Indonesia was completed.
Also attending to accompany the President in the rehearsal were Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, TNI Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto, National Police Chief, General Pol. Idham Azis, Head of Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono, and Deputy for Protocol, Press, and Media of the Presidential Secretariat Bey Machmudin.
