Detiktoday.com – Member of Commission I DPR RI Abdul Kadir Karding assessed that the naming of the street President Joko Widodo on all roads in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates reflects the close relationship between Indonesia and the UAE. According to him, the naming of this street was a form of friendship and how much the UAE respects Indonesia.
“The UAE really respects the Indonesian state and they consider Indonesia a country that deserves to be friends or relatives. The use of the name Pak Jokowi by the UAE is also a gift for President Jokowi, especially for one year of his second administration, and a gift for Jokowi’s 6 years of work for Indonesia, “Karding told reporters, Tuesday (20/10/2020)
In addition, the F-PKB politician continued, the UAE Government is considered highly appreciative of President Jokowi’s leadership. Karding said, Jokowi was considered successful in the eyes of the world. “They also appreciate Pak Jokowi’s leadership. Indeed, during Pak Jokowi’s leadership, apart from at home, abroad is considered successful in building our nation. He is also able to communicate, build good relations with countries, especially countries in the Middle East, including the UAE, ”explained Karding.
It is hoped that the inauguration of President Joko Widodo’s street name, written in English and Arabic, can strengthen Indonesia’s relationship with the UAE. “This is a good way for us to strengthen our socio-economic political relations with them. Hopefully in the future, these friendly relations will bring good benefits to Indonesia, ”said Karding.
As is known, the inauguration of President Joko Widodo Street was held on Monday (19/10/2020), at 4:45 p.m. local time by the Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office, Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. President Joko Widodo Street, which was inaugurated, is located on one of the main roads, which divides ADNEC (Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center) and the Embassy Area, the area of a number of Diplomatic Representative Offices.
The Indonesian Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates Husin Bagis is optimistic that the naming of President Joko Widodo’s road will further strengthen and enhance the bilateral relations between Indonesia and the UAE, which have become increasingly close recently. The naming of President Joko Widodo’s streets in Abu Dhabi adds to the number of names of Indonesian figures abroad, such as Jalan Sukarno in Rabat, Morocco, Jalan Muhammad Hatta in Harleem, the Netherlands, Jalan Raden Ajeng Kartini in Amsterdam, and Jalan Munir in The Hague.
