Distributing Productive Banpres for Micro Enterprises, President: Don’t Give Up

Detiktoday.com – President Joko Widodo handed over the Banpres on Productive Micro Enterprises in Central Kalimantan Province. A total of 30 business actors in this category attended the handover ceremony which was held at the Handep Hapakat Public Meeting Building, Pulang Pisau Regency, Central Kalimantan, on Thursday, October 8, 2020.

Grants of IDR 2.4 million were provided as additional capital so that they could immediately rise from the economic impact caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

“We all know that the current economic situation is indeed not easy and it is experienced by all segments of the business class. Big, medium, small and micro are also difficult,” said the President when talking to aid recipients.

Until now, the realization of the distribution of Productive Banpres nationally has reached 99.41 percent, which was given to 9,108,780 micro business actors with a value of IDR 21.86 trillion. Meanwhile, the realization of this program specifically in Central Kalimantan was distributed to 49,868 micro business actors with a value of Rp. 119.6 billion.

The Covid-19 pandemic that hit at least 215 countries in the world needs to be recognized as having a major impact on economic activity, not only in Indonesia but also in most other countries. However, the Head of State invites business actors to keep up their hopes. The Productive Presidential Assistance allocated by the government is expected to ease the business burden for those, micro-entrepreneurs, who are affected by the pandemic.

“Don’t let it loose. Don’t give up. Don’t let our business close down, no. All work must be even more active. Hold on until things get back to normal,” he said.

Mukayyah, a trader who sells lontong sayur and a number of other foods on a daily basis, admits that he has been in business for the past six years. He explained to the President that the turnover that was usually obtained before the pandemic could reach IDR 900 thousand per day. As for the current situation, even though it has decreased considerably, it is still able to book a turnover of IDR 300 thousand.

“That still has to be grateful. Many have closed. Thank God,” said the President.

On this occasion, Mukayyah conveyed his gratitude directly to the President. With this assistance, he received funds that would later be used to continue and maintain his business amid the pandemic.

“Alhamdulillah, after receiving assistance from the President, it can be used for capital,” he said.

For information, the Productive Micro Business Banpres program was launched by President Joko Widodo at the end of last August. This Productive Banpres adds to the incentive scheme for micro-businesses that had previously been provided by the government.

Present at the handover ceremony included Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko and Deputy Governor of Central Kalimantan Habib Ismail Bin Yahya.
