This swab test is the first time that the Indonesian National Paralympic Committee (NPC) has held for its athletes since they joined last October 1 to December. Deputy for Achievement Improvement Chandra Bhakti gave his appreciation to the NPC who conducted a swab test for all national athletes who joined in preparation for the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics in 2021.

“Previously, the National Team was carried out in independent training. I give my appreciation to the NPCs who have conducted a centralized training for the Paralympic Games for Tokyo 2021 starting today in Solo. To strictly implement health protocols, the Indonesian Ministry of Youth and Sports today facilitates SWAB for all athletes, coaches, and NPC national plate officials, “he said.

Chandra also reminded all athletes that as long as the National Team was running the health protocol properly. “I advise all athletes, coaches and officials of the NPC-centered National Pelatnas in Solo to always strictly carry out health protocols because they are currently in a state of the Covid-19 pandemic. The NPC National Pelatnas which is being held today is part of an effort to prepare paralympian athletes for the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics in 2021, “he said.

Chairman of the Indonesian NPC, Senny Marbun, thanked the swab test facility. According to him, this test is very important to determine the condition of athletes in preparation for appearing at the Tokyo Paralympics. “I believe we are all healthy. This must be done because Covid-19 is not only in Indonesia but in the world. So we must follow the protocol rules so that everything is safe,” said Senny.

He also appealed to the athletes of the Tokyo Paralympic National Training Institute to keep them in check during training. Athletes are being asked to reduce outdoor activities during the Covid-19 pandemic. “We have to adjust to the protocol, don’t hang around too much, don’t snack a lot outside, don’t be too wild now. This atmosphere requires us to follow the rules,” he said.

Meanwhile, Purwo Adi Sanyoto Athletic Trainer said that during the national training process, strict health protocols were enforced during the Pelatnas process, one of which was a routine Swab Test for paralympic national training athletes.

“Activities like this are very good because in a situation like this we have to really know, our principle is that everyone in the National Training Team can act as a carrier, so the implementation of this Swab Test is very good for minimizing the spread of Covid in athletes,” said Purwo Adi .
