Government Anticipates Spike in Covid-19 Cases During Long Holidays

Detiktoday.com – The government is trying to anticipate the spread of Covid-19 during the long holiday at the end of October. While chairing a limited meeting on this matter, President Joko Widodo reminded his staff that an increase in the rate of pandemic transmission would not occur after the holiday.
“We had the experience of a long holiday yesterday, maybe one and a half months ago. After that there was a rather high increase. Therefore, we need to discuss this so that this long holiday and joint leave activities do not have an impact on the increase in Covid cases,” he said in a limited meeting held at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Monday, 19 October 2020.
Currently, based on data as of October 18, 2020, the average active case in Indonesia stands at 17.69 percent. This figure is already lower than the world average of active cases which reached 22.54 percent.
“This is very good. We are 17.69 percent, the world is 22.54 percent,” said the President.
In the same data, the average death rate due to Covid-19 in Indonesia also decreased from 3.94 percent to 3.45 percent. This was also followed by an improving recovery rate in Indonesia.
“Then the average recovery in Indonesia is 78.84 percent. This is also higher than the world recovery rate of 74.67 percent,” he said.
Therefore, the Head of State hopes and strives for these improvement figures to increase from time to time so that further the trend of the spread of Covid-19 cases in Indonesia will get better.
