President Encourages Students of TNI-Polri Officers to Make Breakthroughs
Detiktoday.com – President Joko Widodo encouraged the TNI-Polri student students to work in new ways that were faster and more efficient, among others by making breakthroughs so as to cut the long-winded and slow way of working. The President believes, in the future a fast country will defeat a slow country.
This was conveyed by President Joko Widodo when giving a briefing to the participants of the 2020 Joint Struggle Activities Program (PKB Juang) through a video conference from the Bogor Presidential Palace, West Java, Tuesday, July 28, 2020.
“Many times I have said that it is not a big country that defeats a small country, if that is the past yes, but now and in the future a fast country will defeat a slow country. That is, the fast will win,” the President said.
The Head of State explained that the problem of governance lies in the too many regulations that bind. According to him, procedures and stages are too many, and long bureaucracies often trap ourselves as the ones making the rules.
“This is what I think is our great work going forward, including in the TNI and Polri. And the brothers will be in the future because they will be leaders in the TNI and Polri,” the President said.
For this reason, the President invited the participants, consisting of students from the Indonesian Military Command, the National Police Force, the National Police Commissioner and the National Police Commissioner, to dare to give a new nuance and new ideas. Not only that, TNI-Polri officers must also be able to guide and find new ways faster.
“Spurring our subordinates to take the faster path, the smart shortcut, the goal oriented, the results oriented, the results we can see and we can calculate,” the President said.
A result-oriented, fast, and efficient way of working is absolutely necessary to win the competition with other countries. Especially when in a difficult situation like now where the health crisis coincided with an economic crisis due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
“We must, this atmosphere, we must dare to change the channel from ordinary ordinary channels to extraordinary channels, extraordinary channels, both the speed and the way we work,” the President said.
On this occasion, the President also invited the participants of the Indonesian Military Command, the National Police Force, the National Secretariat, and the Indonesian Police Secretariat, to oversee several urgent and important agendas for the country. The officers were also asked to oversee changes in new ways of working more quickly and efficiently.
“Once again, if we can do these methods, I believe we will be able to get through this difficult time, this difficult time, then we will enter a new culture of work in the normal situation that we expect next year. we are already in a position to recover the economy, the vaccine has been found, and mass vaccinations can be carried out to all people in our country, “said the President.
