Encouraging Independent Tests, DPR Speaker Asked for “Swab Test” Rates to be Lowered
Detiktoday.com – Chairman of the Indonesian Parliament Dr. (H.C.) Puan Maharani asked the Government to control the swab test rates as one of the steps to control the spread of Covid-19. According to Puan, the number of people who carry out independent swab tests will increase if the standard price of the swab test is set to make it affordable.
“We urge the government to lower the price of the swab test and to standardize prices. Even though it is adjusted to a certain place or province / district, if the price is lowered, this will encourage the community to do the swab test independently, “said Puan, Tuesday (29/9/2020).
The PDI-Perjuangan politician said, if the swab test rates were more affordable, the public’s awareness to have themselves checked would increase. With increasing public awareness and increasing swab tests, controlling the spread of Covid-19 can be carried out with better results.
“In the Government, regarding the swab test which is currently being carried out in bulk, if the price is lowered later, so that it can make people aware of independent tests, it will be better,” said Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (PMK) for the 2014-2019 period that.
Puan emphasized that the handling of the Covid-19 pandemic must be carried out thoroughly with good coordination between the central and local governments. Public awareness must also be increased in breaking the chain of Covid-19, especially by disciplining in implementing health protocols; wear a mask, keep your distance, and wash your hands frequently with soap and running water.
“I ask that the handling of Covid-19 have clear standards or standards throughout Indonesia so that the handling will be useful and comprehensively become a single unit of mutual cooperation to handle Covid-19 as a whole,” said the politician of the Central Java electoral district.
