The Ministry of PUPR Carries Out Preservation of the Nagreg-Rajapolah Road through the Labor Intensive Scheme

The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) continues to channel the Cash For Work (PKT) program to support mitigation of socio-economic impacts due to COVID-19.
In the field of roads and bridges, in 2020 PKT was carried out in the form of routine road maintenance in 501 locations with a budget of Rp. 738 billion and bridge maintenance in 311 locations with a budget of Rp. 162 billion.
PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said that the CCP Program was implemented through infrastructure development that involved the community / local residents as actors, especially small-scale infrastructure or simple work that did not require technology.
The aim is to open jobs and maintain people’s purchasing power by distributing funds to villages / remote areas, “said Minister Basuki some time ago.
One of the PKT programs in the field of roads and bridges was carried out in the Nagreg-Rajapolah Road Section in West Java Province, starting from KM 43.2 to KM 92.2.
The Nagreg-Rajapolah Road preservation work is carried out through labor-intensive schemes in the form of painting a kereb on the sidewalk or median, peg cleaning, signs cleaning, plant or grass control, bridge drainage cleaning and painting on the bridge with 365 calendar days from the start of the contract March 19 2020
The implementation of its work while maintaining health protocols preventing the spread of COVID-19, maintaining occupational safety and health and using domestic production.
The budget for the routine maintenance PKT program is Rp. 52.7 billion with a total workforce of 35 people per day or 3,248 Workers’ Day
Physical progress until the middle of July 2020 reached 40.7%. While bridge maintenance is budgeted at Rp 205 million with a workforce of 15 people per day or 914 HOK with physical progress reaching 42.8%.
Improving the quality of the Nagreg-Rajapolah national road has important meaning because it will facilitate connectivity in the south of Java Island so that it is expected to reduce the gap with the more developed North Coast (Pantura) area of Java. It is also a tourist path to facilitate tourists to attractions in the southern region of Java which is famous for having beautiful scenery (panoramic road).
So far, Nagreg-Rajapolah Road as a logistical route to support the smooth production and distribution of basic goods and medicines or medical devices, as well as health services / medical vehicles in the framework of handling prevention of the spread of COVID-19.
