Legislators: The Government Needs To Anticipate Heavier Challenges

Detiktoday.com – Member of Commission V DPR RI, Novita Wijayanti, reminded that in the one year period of the administration of President Joko Widodo and Vice President Ma’ruf Amin, it is necessary to anticipate future challenges that could be more severe due to the Covid-19 pandemic compared to current conditions. Moreover, when Indonesia has to face a pandemic situation which has a negative impact in almost all sectors, especially the economic sector.
“During one year this government faced quite a lot of challenges, one of which is that Indonesia is facing the Covid-19 pandemic which has had a tremendous impact on all aspects of life. The government must anticipate future challenges due to the Covid-19 pandemic which could be even more severe. Besides, it needs tougher efforts from the government, “said Novita in a press release to Parliamentaria, Wednesday (21/10/2020).
Furthermore, the politician from the Gerindra Party faction said that the current pandemic conditions have implications for all areas of life in all regions, be it health, social, and economic. So, Novita emphasized that the Government is expected to try harder to get through the difficult phase that is also experienced by countries in the world.
Not only that, the legislator for the VIII Central Java electoral district which includes Cilacap-Purwokerto reminded that whatever the government will do for the next five years will determine Indonesia’s progress for the next 50 years. For this reason, Novita suggested that the government determine and prioritize sectors that are the main focus.
“The government must prioritize and determine sectors that have a significant impact on health, social and future economic growth in Indonesia. The role of the community is also very important to realize a more prosperous and advanced Indonesia, “said the Deputy Chairman of the Household Affairs Agency (BURT) of the DPR RI.
