Presiden Joko Widodo Tunaikan Salat Jumat di Masjid Baiturrahim

Detiktoday.com – President Joko Widodo held Friday prayers at the Baiturrahim Mosque, Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, on Friday, August 14, 2020, after delivering a state speech at the MPR Annual Session and the Joint Session of the DPR RI and DPD RI.

Arriving at around 12.01 WIB, the Head of State who came with the Minister of State Secretary Pratikno was seen wearing a mask and still carrying out health protocols. Upon arrival at the mosque, the President first performed the mosque’s tahiyyatul sunah prayers.

During the Friday prayers at the Baiturrahim Mosque this time, Vice President Ma’ruf Amin acted as preacher and delivered a sermon with the theme “Gratitude and Reflections on Independence”.

The independence of Indonesia which is celebrated for the 75th time this year is a blessing and a blessing from Allah SWT. For that, the Indonesian people should be grateful for the blessings he has given.

“Allah’s decree does not just come down, but there is a persistent struggle for the nation’s fighters,” said Ma’ruf Amin in his sermon.

The fighting spirit possessed by the fighters and founders of this nation should not be forgotten. With this fighting spirit, the founders of the nation were able to lay the foundations of the state which we currently use as the nation’s guidelines.

“We should also be grateful that the nation’s founders with the spirit of unity and integrity have succeeded in upholding the foundations of our country. Pancasila as the basis of the state is a meeting point for different things. Likewise with the 1945 Constitution,” he said.

In addition, in the midst of the current pandemic, Ma’ruf Amin also advised the Indonesian people to maintain harmony and unity. The Indonesian people must believe that whenever there is difficulty, there is an ease that will be shown by Him.

“We believe that Covid-19 is a test and trial from God to the Indonesian nation and other nations in the world. We are sure that Covid-19 will, God willing, pass,” he said.

For information, this afternoon, President Joko Widodo is scheduled to make a speech in the context of Submitting the Government’s Introduction to the 2021 Fiscal Year State Budget Bill accompanied by Financial Notes and Supporting Documents. The speech will be delivered at the Plenary Meeting of the Opening of the First Session of the Indonesian Parliament for the 2020-2021 Session Year which will be opened by the Chair of the Indonesian Parliament Puan Maharani.
